The British Museum was the first national public museum in the world, and today is home to eight million objects. Discover the vast diversity of human cultures from the dawn of human history to the present.

The British Museum is located in London, at one end of the Great West Way route. For a dose of culture and history, you can begin or end your Great West Way journey here - why not include a trip to Stonehenge as well to travel through England's prehistoric past as you follow the Great West Way route.
